PTA Meeting Minutes - May 12, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 3:05 pm with 4 members present.

Read-a-Thon

21 sign-up sheets were received with book cover drawings. Nancy said that creating the transfers for the t-shirts would include buying one ink cartridge, two 12-packs of transfers for $22, and packages of t-shirts at 2 for $5. It was decided to go with white t-shirts since the drawings will show up better.

Discussion then followed on the t-shirt decorating day. Nancy will test the spray bottle dye idea, and if it works well, she will buy the supplies. Marcia will check with Mr. Brewer to see if Wednesday, May 31 at lunch recess from 12:00 - 1:00 pm will work for this project.

6th Grade Graduation

It was agreed that we would purchase the atlases for the graduating 6th graders. Marcia will do this.

Walk Across New Hampshire

This program finishes at the end of May. Since Marlow joined the program so late and students may not be eligible for the state certificates, Beth is looking into making certificates for all students who participated.

Teacher Appreciation

It was decided to do a breakfast for the teachers on Monday, May 22. Shelli will bring bagels and cream cheese, Marcia will bring fruit and napkins, Nancy will bring juice and Stephanie will make a card signed “From the PTA. Thank you for all that you do.”

Loam for the Playground

Marcia said that the Dudaks have donated one load of soil to the school and the PTA will purchase one load. Tony will spread the soil, and the PTA will purchase grass seeds and hay.

Grants

Nancy learned that the grant that was used to get the snowshoes for the school was the Drug Free and Safe Schools grant. Lois London, the director of nurses for the SAU was the contact.

Next Meeting

This was the last meeting for this school year. The PTA will meet again in September 2006 on a day to be determined.
