PTA PTA Meeting Minutes - November 7, 2005
The meeting was called to
order at 3:15 pm with 6 members present.
Fall Fundraiser - This year
the total amount raised was $4254.55. Perkins
School will receive $2127.26. Membership
- Beth will send in the membership dues by the deadline.
There was a small amount of interest from parents and teachers. Sign
- With installation, we still have to pay $875.
It should be delivered this week. Craft
Fair -
Teachers will be coordinating the craft fair this year.
The PTA will donate the leftover supplies from previous years for the
teachers to use. Classroom
Enrichment
- This year after dividing the fundraising money as per the mission
statement, we have $1000 to use for classroom enrichment grants. Discussion
followed on the best way to divide the money.
It was decided to say in the letter to the teachers that we have $1000
total that will be divided up evenly between all teachers who apply.
Nancy will update last year’s letter and application and get it out to
teachers on November 8. Birdseed
- Mrs. Cunningham asked if the PTA would cover the cost of a bag of birdseed for
the kindergarten class to feed the birds this winter.
The request was unanimously approved. Thanksgiving
Dinner -
The Keene Food Service turkey dinner day is scheduled for Wednesday, November
16, which originally seemed like a good day to hold our dinner. However, since no one could help out on this day, it was
decided to move the event to the Monday before Thanksgiving, November 21.
Beth will inform Keene Food Service of our plans so they do not send
food. Shelli will purchase the food
items. Stephanie will purchase
paper goods. Marcia can bring extra
tables. Nancy will update the
letter indicating that this year, instead of seeking donations of food items via
the classrooms, the PTA will cover the cost of the food.
The letter will ask for donations of pies and for volunteers to cook the
purchased turkeys. It will also ask that outside guests be limited to 2 per
family. We will ask for RSVPs by
Wednesday, November 16 so we can get a sense of numbers.
Nancy will get the letter ready for November 8. Next Meeting:
