Marlow Cemetery Trustees

Due to the absence of the Secretary the minutes for October were postponed until our next meeting scheduled for  December  7th.

Roxanne reported that the Olde Settlers Cemetery needed to have clean up as  there were many tree limbs and branches in the area.

Village Cemetery was reported to “look good”.

Mary reported the following:

Lilacs 1856  - WestArt Schmid has agreed to the sexton cutting lilac branches and tree branches that stick through the fence in 1856 first row.

Removal of broken stones in the 1819 section were tagged and removed to the garden shed. Those in the 1856 section will be tagged removed before the end of November.

Plaques for broken stones removed that can no longer be identified in the graveyard will be  2 /34 x 5 plaques on 15 inch stakes. Upon checking with RJ Sports I found that the price I was given of $2.50 each was wrong. The total cost for each plaque including stake will be 5.00 each . It is anticipated that 20 plaques will be necessary to complete the current project. We have the money for this from the McCourt – Village Trust.

Input of data in database . 1467 names and info have been entered into the database. This represents the cards through Huntley. The cards for Huntley, though, are not complete as they have only the info such as A. Huntley with no dates and no cards for others buried in the plots. For those that I have info, there can be as many as 4-5 others in the plot. This info will have to be gathered from the gravestones and is a project that should be put off until spring as there are more cards I-Z to input into the database.

Additional Data needed..As of right now there are 50 names that need additional info from the gravestones ( does not count Huntleys) Mostly date of death ( no date of interment on the cards)  I need to divide this work out between us to get the info. I am putting that on another database in order to organize it by plot #.

Payment of P/C to Town for mowing will be made as soon as we have rec’d the last invoice from Hillside .  Currently there is a death in the family so it might be a little while before we receive it
