Trustees / Trustees of the Trust Fund Minutes / May 14, 2007 Cemetery Present: Gerry
Plotts, Roxanne MacConnell, Mary
Blank, Lucille Gorges TTF Present:
Mary Blank, Lucille Gorges, Patty Little We have one candidate for Sexton:
Tony Davis. Tony has agreed to be our Sexton and was appointed by the
Cemetery Trustees tonight and sworn in by the Selectmen The Duties of the Sexton
were discussed and accepted. Copies were given to all present. Tony
feels comfortable with the duties as he is now being called by the
funeral homes and the families of the deceased. Several Cemetery Trustees met with Paul
Lawrence and Travis Lawrence of Hillside Lawn
Services at the Village Cemetery. Hillside will be our contract mower
for the 2007 mowing season.
Their first mowing of all three cemeteries will be the week of
May 21st, just before the Memorial Services on the 27th. Patty Little made a matrix for the
estimates of the surveyors for the cemetery trustees to study. We
have four estimates from Edward Goodrich, Vorce, Soney & Associates,
SVE Associates, and Lawrence Associates. From this information we voted
to accept the estimate from Ed Goodrich for $5470 plus labor. Mary will
notify Ed and set up a meeting time with him at the Village Cemetery.
Patty will send refusal letters to the others. Linda Trudelle notified Mary of her
need to purchase a cremation plot in the P/C
section. Her father, Francis Venne passed away in the fall and the
family wishes that he be buried near his brother, Rene Venne who is
buried in 305. Mary has
given her a choice of 305A or 305 B, which are, located long the chain
link fence on the west side. Work to be
accomplished before Memorial Day includes painting the bench, raking
under the large tree and picking up branches which Mary will do. Mary will create an invoice to bill the
Highway Dept for the weedwhacker that the Trustees must sell.
Tony Davis of the Highway department has said his budget can sustain the
purchase of the ww at the price of $242.00.
The funds would be deposited in the Common Trust #1 Account plus
the interest that would have been earned by such funds.
The trustees each gave a donation to pay for the interest. We have one application from Hillary
Piispanen. Because she will
be attending UNH in Durham, which is outside the 60-mile radius, she
does not meet the purpose of the Francis Strickland Scholarship.
Mary has a call into Jack Strickland to
get some further details on the 60-mile radius restriction. The TTFs normally wait for the first
installment of the year’s property tax to create or add funds to CRF
or Trust Funds and will request funds from the town at the
end of the month. We have rec’d a bill form Deluzio
Ambulance Service for Paul Dudak for 175.00.
Service provided December 7, 2006. A copy of this bill was mailed
to Loretta on April 23rd, 2007. After
discussion it was decided that this invoice did not qualify for payment,
as it was 4 months before the Town created the Ambulance and Paramedic
expendable trust. Mary will explain to the Selectmen our refusal. Minutes
