Marlow Planning Board -- February 12, 2008 / Unapproved minutes of meeting

Present:

Joe Feuer (Chairman), Lyle Handy, Sr., Bonnie Hazelton, Mark Lanier, and Michael Puschaver

Absent: 

Bob Allen

The meeting was called to order at 7:10. The minutes from January 9, 2008 were read and unanimously approved as corrected: replacing “amount of . . .” with the words, “’fee for‘. . . building permits.”

Unfinished Business:

• We discussed the public hearing held on 01/31/08 and Mr. Feuer stated that the selectmen had talked to him about their hopes that our amendment would be more detailed -- providing the written conditions. He explained to them that the ZBA could determine their own criteria in relation to commercial wind farms and telecommunication towers.

• Mr. Lanier expressed his interest in serving on the ZBA as the representative from the Planning Board.

Other Business:

Mr. Feuer presented the possibility of the town charging residents for driveway permits. He described the time and effort put in by Tony Davis, who studies visibility issues, washouts, runoffs, and feasibility of emergency access. He admitted that the road committee, road agent and selectmen would need to adopt the plan for a driveway permit fee. But after some discussion by other members of the planning board it was determined to leave the permitting process alone, as Mr. Davis is a paid employee of the town, not a volunteer.

Ms. Hazelton brought up the need for an additional member of the planning board, to replace Ms. Kirsh. A few names were brought up as possible candidates.
