Marlow Planning Board -- December 11, 2007 / Unapproved minutes of meeting

Present:  

Joe Feuer (Chairman), Lyle Handy, Sr., Bonnie Hazelton, Mark Lanier, and Michael Puschaver

Absent: 

Carla Kirsh and Bob Allen

The meeting was called to order at 7:05.  The minutes from November 14, 2007 were read and unanimously approved with one correction -- the Robert and Susan Rock Property is located on “Route 10,” not on “Washington Pond Road.”

Communications Directed to the Board:

• Mr. Feuer reported that Carla Kirsh has resigned from the Planning Board.  A new member will need to be appointed.

• The Planning Board received a copy of the paperwork for the Property Transfer of 70.3 acres of land, from Arthur Cohen to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.  (Map 412, Lots 005 and 017).

Other Business:

• Tonia Coffin, Adjunct Professor from Keene State College, and 5 students from her class on Natural Resources Management gave a presentation on Wind Power to the board and interested townspeople.  Eric Dellea, Sarah Green, Torin Hjelmstad, Samantha Rust, and Tabatha Wilson utilized charts, maps and a PowerPoint presentation to explain the types of turbines, current wind farms, proposed wind farms and the potential concerns related to utilization of wind energy.  They answered questions from the audience and left a detailed written report with the Planning Board.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.

Since the second Tuesday in January is New Hampshire’s Presidential Primary, the next regular meeting of the Marlow Planning Board will be on Wednesday, January 9, at 7:00 p.m.
