Marlow Planning Board -- August 14, 2007 Unapproved minutes of meeting

Present: Joe Feuer (Chairman), Bob Allen (representative from Selectmen), Lyle Handy, Sr., Bonnie Hazelton, Mark Lanier, and Michael Puschaver

Absent: Carla Kirsh

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 The minutes from July 10, 2007 were read and unanimously approved as typed.

Communications Directed to the Board:

• Mr. Feuer read an invitation received for the Fall Planning and Zoning Conference scheduled in northern New Hampshire for Saturday, October 13, 2007.

• He also read the latest notice of the law lecture series scheduled for presentation in Jaffrey.

Reports from Committees/Officials:

• Mr. Allen reported that Ken Kozyra (who represents US Cellular) did not come to a Selectmen’s meeting on July 23, 2007. The selectmen have requested that Mr. Kozyra give them 2-weeks’ notice before he comes, so that the public can be notified.

• The members of the Capital Improvement Committee who were present described the letters sent out to all department heads in Marlow, asking for recommendations of improvements. Mr. Puschaver sent letters to the Fire Department, the Road Committee, the Library and Cemetery Trustees, the Police Department and the head of the Transfer Station, asking for feedback on safety issues, repairs, immediate needs, and longrange goals. The Capital Improvement Committee intends to keep all their notes, letters and responses in a 3-ring binder available at the town office.

Other Business:

• A discussion took place regarding the possibility of changing the $1,000 limit for a required building permit, to a square footage limit, instead, in our Zoning Ordinances. The change would need to be in the form of an amendment, presented and voted on at town meeting next March.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Marlow Planning Board will be on Tuesday, September 11, at 7:00 p.m.
