Marlow Planning Board -- January 10, 2006 Unapproved minutes of meeting

Present: Carla Kirsh, Michael Puschaver, Joseph Feuer, Bonnie Hazelton, and Ray Despres

Absent: Trish Rogan

The meeting was called to order at 7:00. The minutes from December 13, 2005 were read and unanimously approved as typed.

Public Hearing

A public hearing was convened to discuss the proposed floodplain management regulations to be added to our zoning ordinances, via the town ballot in March. After discussion by the Marlow Planning Board and members of the public, the board voted to recommend the passage of these changes. Since the language and format suggested by the OEP and required by FEMA -- in order for town residents to qualify for help from FEMA -- is actually 9 pages long, it was suggested that copies of the actual wording be available to the public before and during voting. Mr. Feuer added that the Marlow selectmen had already adopted the updated Flood Insurance Maps.

Old Business

Dave Galluccio was present and had the most recent draft of the new Zoning Ordinance book. He also had an unbound copy of the draft to be used if someone needed a copy before the book was finalized. Ms. Hazelton agreed to proofread the latest draft.

New Business

Harry and Bev Power were present to discuss their plans for a boundary adjustment to their land on the Marlow-Stoddard town line, off Rte 123. The boundary adjustment will increase their property by adding 15 acres of land (with no road frontage) presently owned by David and Marilyn Parker. They explained that their purpose in adding to their property was to obtain wood for cord wood. The Planning Board Members reviewed the rough map the Powers presented and Mr. and Mrs. Power agreed to return with the mylar and copies once the survey was complete.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Marlow Planning Board will be on Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at 7:00 p.m.
