Planning Board Minutes
September 2004

Marlow Planning Board - September 15, 2004 / Unapproved minutes of meeting.

Present: Deborah Washburn, Joseph Feuer, Bonnie Hazelton, Carl McConnell, Deb Monty, and Trish Rogan

Absent: Ray Despres

The meeting was called to order at 7:08. The minutes from June 8, 2004 were read and unanimously approved as typed.

Mr. Feuer presented a number of letters and/or announcements regarding upcoming events of interest to members of the Planning Board and Zoning Board, including the Law Lecture Series and the Planning and Zoning Conference. He reported that he’d spoken with a member of the NH Office of Energy and Planning who has agreed to send us 7 of the new law books at minimal cost. He also shared an article from “NH Town and City,” regarding the role of a town’s planning board, in considering Lot Line Adjustments.

Old Business

The Planning Board discussed the “change of use” proposed on the Aldridge property. Mr. Feuer had been asked to approve a building permit for that proposal, and had instead referred them to the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Some discussion followed as to who is presently on the Marlow Zoning Board.

New Business

The Board reviewed the proposed changes to building and zoning codes and rules, from Selectman Alan Blank.

Dave Gallucio was present, to discuss his concerns about the lack of a consistent and clear process by which a Marlow resident obtains and completes a building permit.

Discussion followed and the Planning Board agreed to review the process and either put together a simple checklist, and/or clarify and make corrections to the present Zoning book, utilizing some of Mr. Blank’s suggestions as well as other sources. Once the Planning Board determines what changes need to be made, there will be the required public hearing, at which time the public can voice their concerns.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Marlow Planning Board will be on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at 7:00 p.m.
