The Board of Trustees for the Marlow Town Library met on March 3, 2008 at 7 p.m.

Present at the Library were: 

Jeanne Kennedy, Chair; Donna Chase, Treasurer; Joyce Lanier, Secretary; Alice Scharf, Trustee; Patricia Strickland, Librarian; and Faith Conley, Trustee.

Secretary’s Report:

The minutes of the February 4, 2008 meeting were read. Donna Chase moved that the minutes be accepted into the record without correction or addition. Jeanne Kennedy seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer Donna Chase reported that the beginning balance forward from January of the Business Account was $6,812.83. With $432.74 expended and a deposit of $13.87 (from lost book paid for) this left a balance of $6,393.96 as of February 29, 2008. Motion: Joyce Lanier: to accept into the record the Treasurer’s report without correction or addition. Jeanne Kennedy: seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Old Business:

Trustees: Discussion was on getting two new trustees to replace Jeanne Kennedy and Donna Chase. It was brought up that Susan Berge would entertain becoming a trustee and that we should “write-in” her name as a trustee. The new trustees need to change over the signatures at Connecticut River Bank when new positions are appointed. Bylaws will be discussed at our next meeting.

New Business:

Discussion on the Duquette Family and that we all agreed that they owe NO money for books lost in the fire of their home.

Other:

Donna Chase is also retiring after many years being the Treasurer of the Trustees. Everyone will miss her and appreciate her many years of devotion to the town. The Trustees discussed the wonderful service of both Jeanne Kennedy and Donna Chase in their unwavering volunteerism to the Library. THANK YOU BOTH!

Meeting Adjourned:

Jeanne Kennedy made a motion to adjourn at 8:00 pm. Donna Chase seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
