The
Board of Trustees for the Marlow Town Library met on December 4, 2006 at 7 PM.
Present at the Library were: Jeanne Kennedy, Chair;
Donna Chase, Treasurer; Jan Lane, Secretary; Johanna Kent, Art Director; and
Librarian Pat Strickland.
Absent from the meeting was: Alice Scharf.
Secretary’s Report:
The minutes of the previous meeting, November 6, 2006, were read.
Jeanne Kennedy moved that the minutes be accepted into the record without
correction or addition. Donna Chase seconded the motion, which passed
unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer Donna Chase reported that the balance in the Business
Account is $6742.79 as of November 30, 2006.
Old Business:

An inter-library sign will be posted alerting patrons to the
on-going used book sale.

Alice Scharf reported to the Chair that she was unable to find an
acceptable commercial vacuum cleaner for under $500. Trustees decided that a
high-quality residential vacuum would be sufficient for the purposes.
New Business:

Donna Chase reported that the Library had no heat on the Saturday after
Thanksgiving
(November
25). After investigation, it was determined that the oil tank has sludge in it.
The
Library
currently has heat, however the sludge be a continuing problem. Tony Davis will
be
following
up on the matter for a permanent solution.

Pat Strickland presented the library with a print donated by former trustee,
Jeanie Merwin. The
print
is from the classic children’s book, Goodnight, Moon by Marjorie Wise
Brown.

Jeanne Kennedy moved that Donna Chase be reimbursed for an ink cartridge for
work done (on
her home computer
& printer) for the summer reading program. Jan Lane seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.

Johanna Kent presented her completed report and library floor
plan as, requested by the Selectmen for the Joint Loss Management Committee.
