The
Board of Trustees for the Marlow Town Library met on May 2, 2005, at 7 PM.
Present at
the Library were: Jeanne Kennedy, Chair; Donna Chase, Treasurer; Jan
Lane, Secretary; and Librarian Pat Strickland. Absent were Jeannie Merwin, Clerk
of the Works and Johanna Kent, Art Director.
Secretary’s
Report:
The minutes of
the previous meeting (04 April 05) were read and accepted into the record with
the following correction: under New Business #3 - the name of the museum is
the Nature Museum, not the Water Museum.
Treasurer’s
Report:
Treasurer Donna Chase reported:

The balance
in the Business (Operating) Fund is: $4507.18
as of 4/31/05
Old
Business
-
Jeanne
Kennedy reported that the Selectmen have responded to the Fire Report for
Jones Hall/ Marlow Town Library. An electrician has been in to fix the unlit
Exit sign, and the furnace room will be checked.

Pat
Strickland reported that she has applied for a grant from “Kids, Books,
and the Arts” for a performance by “Alex the Jester”.
The total cost of the performance and the workshop entitled “Fool
School: How to Get People to Lighten Up” costs $630.05. The grant may
cover all but $75.

Jeanne
Kennedy reported that Joe Feuer volunteered to call Bell Septic to find out
when the last time the Library’s septic system was pumped out. Tony Davis
will also be coming to check the toilet to see if it needs minor/major
maintenance.
New
Business:
-
Trustees
were given copies of the 1991 Library Polices to review prior to the June
meeting. If there are changes or additions to these policies, they will be
re-written at the next Trustee Meeting.
