Marlow Historical Society Minutes & Reports

July 2007

Marlow Historical Society / Executive Board Meeting / July 3, 2007

Jones Hall, 6:30 PM

Present: Mary Blank, Loisanne Foster, and Candy Wiggum

First we prepared Jones Hall for the first visit ever to Marlow by a presidential candidate, Bill Richardson. The business part of the meeting was called to order at 7:20 PM.

The Secretary’s Report and the Treasurer’s Report were read, discussed, and accepted as read.

Old Business:

“Four Days of Fury” will be shown on July 12 at Stoddard’s Old Home Days.

Candy will talk with Tony Davis to learn what is feasible for “The Island” on Route 10 on the north end of town before we go to the Selectmen with any proposal. We hope to plant two elms there.

New Business:

We will support IOOF work with the Preservation Alliance to conserve the Marlow Academy building.

Donald Dunlap of Marlow has recently completed work on a replica of a chest of drawers made in his ancestor’s shop in Bedford, N.H. John Dunlap completed the original in 1782. The New Hampshire Historical Society commissioned this replica where it will be on display.

Respectfully submitted,
Loisanne Foster
